Starting the application process You'll need to choose which of the categories below best describes your insurance needs. All VPIS policies require at least one insured veterinarian. Please follow these steps Complete the appropriate supplementary questionnaire and email the completed questionnaire to vpis@ajg.co.nz Proceed to the application to register your interest You will receive an invitation from our broker at Gallagher, to start your proposal application. And once your application is approved by the VPIS membership committee, you will receive a quote. Locum policy The locum option is a restricted cover and is therefore priced differently. This option may be appropriate if: You work as a locum or contractor for one or more veterinary practices You don't invoice any clients personally for veterinary services that you provide to them You are only seeking cover for your locum work, and not for the practice(s) that you work for or are contracted to If you are seeking cover for any work other than as a locum this is not the right category for you. 1. Download and complete the supplementary locum policy questionnaire 2. Then email the completed questionnaire to vpis@ajg.co.nz. 3. Proceed to the application Veterinary practice This option may be appropriate if: You are seeking cover for claims against your practice and staff You don't work alone You have veterinary and/or administrative support staff or contractors working for you You have one or more veterinarians seeking cover under this policy You and your team provide veterinary services from a physical premises AND/ OR mobile veterinary services 1. Download and complete the supplementary veterinary practice questionnaire 2. Then email the completed questionnaire to vpis@ajg.co.nz. 3. Proceed to the application Sole practitioners This option may be appropriate if: You are seeking cover for claims against you in your own name and in the name of your commercial entity You are the only veterinarian seeking cover under this policy You personally provide veterinary services under the instruction, authority or supervision of a commercial or government entity, e.g. SPCA, MPI Your business activities may include working as a locum - however it is not the only veterinary work you do 1. Download and complete the supplementary sole practitioner questionnaire 2. Then email the completed questionnaire to vpis@ajg.co.nz 3. Proceed to the application Access level Public
